#1211.22: Duties of the Treasurer

1.0 PURPOSE:

To set forth the duties and responsibilities ofthe District's Treasurer in addition to those

set forth in the District By-Laws.

2.0 DUTIES and Responsibilities of the TREASURER:

2.1 Maintaining or supervising the maintaince, of all financial related records of the

District in a timely and accurate manner.

2.2 Make arrangements for the annual audit of the district's financial statements by a

qualified Certified Public Accounting firm.

2.3 Establish and ensure compliance with sound internal controls that are deemed

adequate within the confines of the District's resources.

2.4 Submit a report to the Board of Directors at the monthly Board meetings of the

financial status of the District including, but not limited to, a detailed listing of

expenditures, a Balance Sheet and Operating Statement with appropriate comparisons to

the approved budget and prior year along with a discussion of any financial or other

concerns.

2.5 Assist in the prepreparaton of the District's annual operating budget.

2.6 Ensure that all District financial assets are properly and adequately safeguarded.

2.7 Make recommendations to the Board regarding investments of District funds and any

needed borrowing or financing arrangements.

2.8 Maintain contact with appropriate banking and other financial organizations.

2.9 Any other duty as determined by the Board that would normally be attributable to the

function of Treasurer.

2.10 Assist the Board in maintaining compliance with all applicable Federal and State

laws and regulations.

3. Participation

3.1 The Treasurer has a responsibility to inform the Chairperson and the Department in a

timely manner of any inability to be available for an future scheduled meeting or inability

to be available for any extended period for unscheduled District business.

3.2 The Treasurer has a responsibility to inform the Chairperson and the Department in

a timely manner of any loss or change in his/her typically used channel of communication

such as Email and telephone numbers.
