Subject: NEW FIRE STATION BUILDING COMMITTEE REPORT
Date: June 17, 2009
1. The project has entered into its final phases of construction that involve the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
2. Sprinkler system pump house is located and presently being wired for power.
3. Floor treatments (other than in the apparatus bay) and drop ceilings are in place.
4. Both interior and exterior painting is in progress.
5. All necessary electrical work in order that Nation Grid may proceed with installing its service from the street should be completed by the end of this week, i.e., two weeks later than expected.
6. Hydro seeding disturbed areas was carried out last week with evidence of grass already emerging.
7. Paving and concrete walkways and concrete apron have been completed.
8. A guard rail along the high side of the retention pond will be installed.
9. The flag pole awaits installation.
10. Some office and sleep room furniture and lockers have been ordered.
11. The architect is finalizing his recommendations and drawing for landscaping.
12. Completion and granting of a CO are estimated to be another three to four weeks out.
13. Of the original hard cost budget of $1,870,000, present estimates, commitments and payments total $1,838,901, leaving a hard cost balance of $31,099 as of 10 June, 2009.
14. Likewise, of the original soft cost budget of $330,000, present estimates, commitments and payments total $281,051, leaving a soft cost balance of $48,949.
15. The above stated estimates, commitments and payments totals do not include the yet to be determined cost of landscaping. Funding for landscaping and any future required change orders and incidental needs will be derived from the total unspoken for balance of $80,048.
