Subject: NEW FIRE STATION BUILDING COMMITTEE REPORT
Date: May 21, 2009
1. The approved PAP permit was received on 09 April, 2009.
2. The building permit was granted on 14 April, 2009.
3. The septic system is installed and certified.
4. The facility’s drainage system is in place.
5. The dual tank cistern and piping to the building are installed and awaits delivery of the turn-key pump house.
6. Interior doors, windows have been installed.
7. Apparatus bay doors are installed.
8. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) installation is in its final stages.
9. Electrical, mechanical, plumbing and building inspections have commenced.
10. Interior painting of walls, doors and trim is in progress.
11. Piping from the well head to the building is installed.
12. Concrete apron, walkways and flag pole base have been laid out.
13. National Grid has installed three new poles, one on the west side of Rt. 102 and two on the property. Three phase power is expected to be brought to the building within the next two weeks.
14. Sources of furniture, appliances, phone system and propane suppliers are presently being identified.
15. Architect and committee are beginning to address landscaping considerations.
16. Of the original hard cost budget of $1,870,000, present estimates, commitments and payments total $1,838,194, leaving a hard cost balance of $31,806 as of 20 May, 2009.
17. Likewise, of the original soft cost budget of $330,000, present estimates, commitments and payments total $278,466, leaving a soft cost balance of $51,534.
18. The above stated estimates, commitments and payments totals do not include the yet to be determined cost of landscaping. Funding for landscaping and any future required change orders and incidental needs will be derived from the total unspoken for balance of $83,340.
19. The revised date of substantial completion is June 17.
20. The building committee now schedules its meetings on an as needed basis while continuing to comply with OMA requirements.
