Subject: NEW FIRE STATION BUILDING COMMITTEE REPORT
Date: April 22, 2009
1. The approved PAP permit was received on 09 April, 2009.
2. The building permit was granted on 14 April, 2009.
3. The septic system is installed and certified.
4. The facility’s drainage system is in place.
5. The dual tank cistern is located and awaits piping to building and backfill.
6. In-slab radiant heat plumbing installation and slab flooring is complete.
7. Interior block walls have been erected.
8. Mezzanine is under construction.
9. Apparatus bay doors are installed.
10. Presently, interior plumbing, wiring, HVAC, insulation, sprinklers, wall studs and sheet rock are being installed.
11. Electrical, mechanical, plumbing and building inspections have commenced.
12. Piping from the well head to the building is scheduled for installation this week.
13. Trees have been cleared per National Grid’s requirement for 3 phase service.
14. Membership is identifying sources of furniture and telecommunications systems.
15. Architect and committee are beginning to address landscaping considerations.
16. Of the original hard cost budget of $1,870,000, present estimates, commitments and payments total $1,836,295 leaving a hard cost balance of $33,705 as of 06 April, 2009.
17. Of the original soft cost budget of $330,000, present estimates, commitments and payments total $276,304, leaving a soft cost balance of $53,696.
18. The above stated estimates, commitments and payments totals do not include the yet to be determined cost of landscaping. Funding for landscaping and any future required change orders will be derived from the total balance of $87,401.
19. It is anticipated that WCFD will receive a CO for the new station by the first or second week of June.
20. The building committee now schedules its meetings on an as needed basis while continuing to comply with OMA requirements.
